Kororā | Little Blue Penguin

Kororā, the little blue penguin, is the world’s smallest penguin and a native breeding bird of New Zealand’s coast. Once a year it replaces its entire feather coat at once. For roughly two weeks it must remain ashore, fasting while a new waterproof coat develops; a ragged-looking penguin hidden beside the shore may simply be completing this essential annual moult.

Two kororā stand close together, deep blue heads and backs contrasting with pale breasts. Fine feather texture softens their compact shapes, while black strokes beneath them provide a shared base. The paired arrangement brings a quiet sense of companionship to this lively Inked portrait.

Printed on 230gsm smooth matte archival-quality paper, with a smooth, non-glossy finish.

Pigment-based, UV-stable archival inks reproduce the colours and fine details of the original digital artwork. Each giclée print is produced in New Zealand.
