With wings raised to reveal a flash of brilliant colour, Kea is a native bird art print from Hiriwā Digital Art’s Inked collection. Olive and moss-green plumage contrasts dramatically with vivid orange and red beneath the outstretched wings, while the bird grips a gnarled branch rendered in sweeping black brushwork. Scattered splashes of green, orange and black add energy and movement to the composition, giving this distinctive parrot a bold contemporary presence.
Endemic to Aotearoa New Zealand, kea are highly intelligent and inquisitive parrots found across the mountains and forests of the South Island. Their mostly olive-green plumage conceals striking orange feathers beneath the wings, which become dramatically visible when they take flight. Kea are particularly well known for their curiosity, problem-solving ability and tendency to investigate their surroundings.
Designed and printed in Aotearoa New Zealand, Kea is available as a physical fine art print in sizes A4, A3, A2, A1 and A0.
