Evening Sound

Fiordland’s steep-sided waterways began as valleys carved and deepened by glaciers, then flooded by the sea as the ice retreated. Heavy rainfall still reshapes their appearance: water runs down the mountain walls, adding temporary cascades beside the permanent falls. A quiet fiord can become a landscape of countless silver ribbons after rain, with its immense scale suddenly traced by moving water.

Steep green walls and long ribbons of falling water recall the fiords of Fiordland, particularly Piopiotahi/Milford Sound. Warm evening light catches the waterfalls and spreads across the sheltered water, softening the cool mountain shadows. The contrast between immense slopes and fine threads of white water gives the scene both scale and quietness.

Printed in New Zealand on 360gsm premium natural white matte cotton canvas. The canvas is acid-free and OBA-free, with a neutral-pH coating designed for water-based inks.

The canvas is stretched over kiln-dried New Zealand pine stretcher bars, giving the artwork depth and a finished shape for your wall.

Available in A4 (21 × 29.7cm), A3 (29.7 × 42cm), A2 (42 × 59.4cm), A1 (59.4 × 84.1cm) and A0 (84.1 × 118.8cm). The artwork’s orientation determines which side is the width.

• Mirror Edge: the edge of the image is reflected around the sides.
• Black: the sides are finished in black.
• None (Blank): the sides are left blank.

Your edge choice changes the sides of the canvas, allowing you to choose the finish that suits your space.

Display indoors, away from direct sunlight, damp areas and sources of heat. Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth and avoid water, cleaning sprays or pressure on the printed surface.

Lift by the stretcher frame, taking care not to press or stretch the canvas.

Every canvas print funds a native tree through Trees That Count. Your planting-region selection is a preference; the final location depends on where support is needed.
