Tūī

Found naturally only in Aotearoa New Zealand, the tūī belongs to the honeyeater family and feeds mainly on nectar from native flowers. Its distinctive white throat tufts make it easy to recognise. Tūī are also skilled mimics, able to copy other birds’ calls and even sounds such as phone ringtones.
