Kiwi

Stepping forward against a clean white backdrop, Kiwi is a native bird greeting card from Hiriwā Digital Art’s Inked collection. Loose strokes of warm brown, ochre and charcoal bring out the kiwi’s shaggy, hair-like feathers, while its long bill and powerful legs give the bird its unmistakable silhouette. Expressive black ink splashes and earthy washes surround the figure, giving this New Zealand icon a bold contemporary treatment.

Endemic to Aotearoa New Zealand, kiwi are flightless birds with tiny vestigial wings and an unusually well-developed sense of smell. Unlike most birds, their nostrils sit close to the tip of their long bill, helping them locate food as they probe through soil and leaf litter.

These greeting cards are fine art prints in card form, using the same 230gsm smooth matte archival-quality paper as Hiriwā’s larger prints.

Pigment-based, UV-stable archival inks reproduce the original digital artwork with fine detail and a non-glossy finish. Proudly New Zealand Made™.
