Infinite Reflections

A dense sweep of stars stretches above silhouetted trees and is repeated in dark, still water. The near-symmetry gives the expansive sky a quiet centre. Small points of light contrast with the solid tree line, making the reflected galaxy feel almost as deep as the sky above.

A clear reflection of the night sky needs more than darkness: it also needs a smooth water surface. Even small ripples tilt the reflecting surface in different directions, breaking stars into scattered points and streaks. On a sheltered, windless night, still water can preserve the shape of the Milky Way, making the landscape appear to open into a second sky.

Printed on 230gsm smooth matte archival-quality paper, with a smooth, non-glossy finish.

Pigment-based, UV-stable archival inks reproduce the colours and fine details of the original digital artwork. Each giclée print is produced in New Zealand.
