Pīwakawaka | Fantail

The pīwakawaka’s fanned tail and lively outline form a detailed engraving against the warm grain of reclaimed rimu. Fine marks give the feathers texture, while the timber’s natural colour softens the darker lines. The result is a small, tactile artwork that keeps the fantail’s distinctive character at its centre.

These handcrafted wooden coasters are a collaboration with fellow small business owner and friend, Brentwood.nz. Crafted from reclaimed rimu by Brentwood.nz, each coaster is engraved by Hiriwā Digital Art with original artwork.

Each piece is individually hand finished. Natural variations in the timber’s grain and colour make every coaster unique.

One wooden coaster, approximately 10 × 10cm. Dimensions may vary slightly because each piece is finished by hand.

Coasters are sold individually. Choose the quantity you’d like, or mix your favourite bird designs to make your own set.

Wipe gently with a damp cloth, then dry. Avoid soaking, dishwashers and abrasive cleaners to care for the timber and engraved surface.
