Tūī

Tūī are honeyeaters endemic to New Zealand, feeding among native flowers and carrying pollen between them. Their familiar musical voice is accompanied by a less obvious sound-making adaptation: a notch in a wing feather produces the characteristic whirr of adult flight. The bird approaching a flowering tree may announce itself through its feathers as well as its song.

The curved bill, white throat tufts and changing feather textures carry this Black & White portrait. Pale details stand clearly against the darker body, giving the bird a strong profile. The restrained palette encourages a closer look at shape and expression rather than the shimmer of its plumage.

Printed on 230gsm smooth matte archival-quality paper, with a smooth, non-glossy finish.

Pigment-based, UV-stable archival inks reproduce the colours and fine details of the original digital artwork. Each giclée print is produced in New Zealand.
