The tūī is a songbird unique to New Zealand capable of a complex variety of sounds and calls, including clearly imitating human speech. Clad in iridescent blue, green, and bronze plumage with two distinctive white throat tufts, tūī are vital pollinators of native trees, covering great distances to feed on the flower nectar of native plants.
